Weekend

The courts are on a roll. Jail terms for calling the judges ‘shumbhan’. 100 crore defamation suits, life term for examination paper leaks and lets Manu Sharma go on parole to attend a wedding !!

At times everything seems to be standing on its head in the country !

Today the shrine at Sabarimala opened its doors to thousands of devotees. Swami Saranam. I only pray to him that HE keeps everyone safe despite the callous way in which we are handling things at Pampa and Sanidhanam.

The whole of India erupted yesterday morning at the news of Ash delivery. But what I noticed was how the media was silenced and told to keep off the Bachan family. Suddenly there is a 10 point bulletin on how to cover the news even. Pathetic. Where are all these egos when ti comes to covering news and other issues that hurt the sentiments of others? They literally poke the mike into the face of a crying mother and asks her what she feels about her son's death !! The Indian media which at times can be the most sensitive has suddenly become the noble understanding angels. Is this the effect of the defamation case on Times Now?

The Vatican has today forced Benetton to remove an advertisement that shows the Pope kissing an Imam. I agree that showing him kissing another man in the mouth is very distasteful. but then we need to look at every incident in the same wave length and not classify a few as art and others as blasphemy.  Barkha has tweeted that the advertisement was not is good taste? I am surprised we have to listen to this crap when the same person goes on and on about freedom of expression when it comes to many other issues like this. At least the pope was not kissing a nude female or something of compared to the nudist painting of the late M.F. Hussain depicting Hindu Goddesses in the name of modern art.

So another weekend has arrived. I hate Friday's. They are so busy. People are just waiting for Fridays to dumps schedules on you. Its like, you work six days a week and on the seventh you spend time doing your favorite sport...charity and community service
